Last summer,
FanFaire caught up with HILDEGARD BEHRENS following her performance
at the 2007 Beethovenfest in Bonn in celebration of the composer Mauricio
Kagel's 75th birthday. She had just returned from Japan where she
debuted Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire and gave a series
of master classes at the Kusatsu Festival.
The world had just learned of LUCIANO PAVAROTTI's passing, an event that
Ms. BEHRENS greeted with sadness. She agreed to sit down for a videotaped
recollection of some memories of the legendary tenor. In this clip, she
recalls some hilarious moments in her debut as Tosca - at the
Paris Opera, with PAVAROTTI as her Cavaradossi.
